Weyer Wins Medalist Honors at NCU Invite
BAXTER, Minn.-- North Central Women's Golf got their season underway on Friday afternoon at the NCU Invitational played at Eagles Landing Golf Course. Freshman Tera Weyer made her presence known by winning medalist honors in her first college golf match.
North Central hosted three teams for their annual invitational including team winner University of Minnesota-Morris, Northwestern College (St. Paul, Minn.) and Bethany Lutheran College (Mankato, Minn.). Tera Weyer (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley) shot an 87 for a two stroke win over the second place golfer.
Weyer was a four year varsity letter winner at Staples-Motley High School and will be majoring in Intercultural Studies at North Central.
Sophomore Mickal Sayler (Beulah, N.D./Beulah) finished twelfth overall individually.
The women will be back at competition next Tuesday at the Northwestern College Invitational.
