Rams Race at Beloit English Style Meet
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- Men's Cross Country turned in a solid performance at the Beloit College English Style Cross Country Meet on Saturday in Beloit, Wisconsin. The Rams earned seventh place in a field of over 100 runners. The race featured several creek bed crossings and multiple hay bale jumps that harkened back to the roots of cross country races during the early days of the sport in England.
Sophomores Sutton Rehwaldt (Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville) and Jake Guttormson (Pine City, Minn./Pine City) finished less than a second apart to earn 24th and 25th place respectively. Senior Austin Muchow (Maple Grove, Minn./Maranatha Christian) was 30th as the third runner for NCU.
Freshmen Paul Chan (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) and David Putman (Millington, Mich./Vassar) rounded out the top five for NCU.
The Rams will be off this weekend before returning to action on October 13 at the Martin Luther College Invitational at Flandrau State Park (New Ulm, Minn.) which serves as a preview for the 2012 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championship. The men's race begins at 11:45 a.m.
MLC and the UMAC will host the conference championship meet on October 27.
