Men's Golf Fourth at Home Invitational

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn.-- Men's Golf finished fourth at their home invitational on Monday afternoon. High winds and a tough course at Les Bolstad golf course drove scores up for the entire field at the facility that is home to the University of Minnesota men's and women's golf programs.

Sophomore Hunter Costello () was the Rams top player on the day shooting an 89 to finish tied for 11th place. Sophomore Kaleb Smith () and freshman Ben Majerle (Little Falls, Minn./Little Falls) both shot a 96 to tie for 15th overall. Sophomore Justin Johnson (Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville) was the Rams finals scoring player, finishing 18th.

Crown College (St. Bonifacius, Minn.) was the team champion on Monday, with a team score of 325. Tom Messner of Crown was the individual medalist, firing an impressive 74 that was six strokes in front of the second place finisher.

The Rams will be back in action on Saturday in their penultimate match of the fall season. NCU travels to Buffalo Lake, Minnesota and Oakdale Golf Club for an invitational hosted by Bethany Lutheran College (Mankato, Minn.). Tee times begin at 11 a.m.
