Head Coach
Plymouth, Minn.
Coach Beasley is entering his fourth season in charge of the Rams baseball program. In two of his first three years as Head Coach the Rams earned a spot in the NCCAA DII World Series. In those years the Rams have made great strides and 2010 saw the Rams take a big step forward. The 11 wins were the most in program history and the young team went 8-7 against UMAC Conference competition. The mission of the Rams baseball program, however, goes beyond the field of play. "I really believe that the game of baseball is a great teaching tool for the game of life. My number one goal is to help prepare our student-athletes for life after college by teaching them discipline, responsibility, how to deal with adversity and helping them grow in their faith," Beasley said. “When they leave here we hope that they will be very attractive to future employers as they have proven that they can be committed, responsible and talented enough to handle school, jobs, baseball, and anything else they may be involved with while at NCU." Coach Beasley is a graduate of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette (’07) where he served as a student-assistant coach during his senior year after a lingering shoulder injury ended his playing days. He was a member of the Ragin’ Cajuns pitching staff from 2005-06. The Cajuns won the Sun Belt Conference Championship in 2005 and 2007 and participated in NCAA DI Regional Tournaments hosted by Tulane University and Texas A&M. He began his collegiate career with a successful two-year stint at Iowa Western Community College (Council Bluffs, Iowa). He had a combined pitching record of 9-1 and was a two-time All-Region selection. From 2004-06 he pitched for the Alexandria (Minn.) Beetles of the Northwoods League, a top summer collegiate league. Six of Coach Beasley’s former teammates have gone on to play in the Major Leagues. Coach Beasley has nearly a decade of experience working with youth baseball organizations and currently works as an instructor for Nevers-Larkin Baseball located in Eden Prairie, Minn. He is also part of the Minnesota Twins Youth Training Camp coaching staff and is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association. Coach Beasley resides in Plymouth with his wife Kati, an NCU Alum, and their dog Boudreaux. They are originally from Glenwood, Minn. and Minnewaska High School.
